Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Our baseline year is 2021. As a professional services company, our operations are administration based however, all employees worked from home during the Covid Pandemic. Any office usage, business travel and employee commuting were exceptionally low to non-existent. We don’t have historic data estimates, so we have included some estimated travel and commuting data to ensure we have a realistic baseline figure. With a large portion of our team working remotely we have also included emissions from homeworking in our baseline. Scope 1: QTM do not own any furnaces, nor company vehicles. We rent an office in a managed office complex in Telford. Scope 2: The emissions figures comprise of electricity usage. Our electricity sources (Via British Gas) are 100% renewable. Scope 3: QTM is an administration-based business and we do not purchase or sell any goods. Therefore, we have no figures to report against categories 4 and 9. Category 5 waste generated in our business is limited to general office waste and is recycled by building management. There are reduced figures to report in 2021 as office was closed and staff working from home. |

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans. Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2]. Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].
